Agenda:
12-13 May
23-24-25 June (25 is a reserve day)
15-16 Septembre

Fee:
The fee will be paid at the first briefing of each of the valid weekend.
In case of bad weather, we will cancel the weekend on thursday or friday evening before the weekend through a WhatsApp Group notification.
Retrieve is not foreseen by default, but we will facilitate retrieve by fellow competitors through a whatsapp group and we will provide assistance in case of trouble or emergency.

Some rules and obligations:
- No airspace infringement will be allowed during the competition. We will provide you with accurate Airspace information.
- Pilots must pre-register on AIRTRIBUNE at least
- Pilots are requested to fly with a life tracking device: SPOT, Delorme, Flymatser live or Airtribune app.
- The scoring will be done after each event and offline. All participants will be required to send in their IGC track file via email at the latest 24 hours after they landed.
- The official and mandatory notification system will be WhatsApp (safety, weather, cancelation, take-off of the day, etc.)

Wifi is available at all time at the headquarter.

This competition aims at including all pilot levels, from goslings to accomplished pilots. For this reason, we will probably allow multiple take-off (in case of bomb out) and clock starts (for early birds in a good cycle). We will make the best out of the flying day. The flight regime switches radically from mountain flying at the start to flying the very flats of Quebec for the race.
The record airtime in Spring is about 7,5 hours. On good days, cloud base can be above 6000 feet and thermals can be quite strong. Summer is usually windy and stable, and this is why we don't plan a comp weekend during July and August. But as from September good days are coming back and the magic of Fall flights happens.

Flying site

Mt. Yamaska is a well known area for cross-country in East Canada, between April to October. The mountain is surrounded by endless agricultural fields were improvised landing fields are easy to find. Cites and villages are easy to land close to and are connected with many roads. Cross-country flights usually end up with a good meal and a beer surrounded by friends in one of many pubs in the region.

The thermals during the August period are very smooth, ranging from 1 to 5 m/s with cloud base between 1500m to 2000m. The cloud base rises progressively as you progress to the East because of elevation rising on the beginning of the Appalachian mountains range. 100 km flights are common each year in the area. The area record is at 162 km done last year on a Gin Carrera paraglider.

The Canadian paragliding championship was held 4 times already (2006, 2009, 2013 and 2014).

Take off Yamasaka - 411 m ASL, - 45.472845, -72.858591
The site has takeoffs in the South, West and North directions. There is a East takeoff but it is not often used.
Winds are usually from the south to the west in August and the flying routes goes in any direction except to the West where there is a flight zone restriction. Anyway this direction usually goes against dominating winds during that period.

Landing zones are located on the North (Club HQ) and the West of the mountain.

Selection and entry fee

The entry fee is 20CAD for each separate weekend and will be paid onsite at the Headquarter at the registration desk. Additional fee may be requested to the visitors by the club, contact the meet director if you have any question.

No refund can be claimed once the fee is paid, even if a day is cancelled.
