История турнира начинается с сентября 1990 года. Основное место проведения гора Клементьева, но с каждым годом все чаще выезжаем на другие старты: Агармыш – гора над Старым Крымом, «крокодил» или Бор-Кая возле Грушевки. C 2013 году (90-летия советского планеризма и собственно летной истории Горы) мы решили в рамках «Кубка Коктебель» проводить «Кубок О.К. Антонова». Crimea is known as a place with the longest flying season duration in Russia. At the same time it is not very easy, but a very interesting place for XC flights. Surrounded by the seas, it's coastal part seldom has high cloudbase – usually 1500-2000 m. In the continental part cloudbase is usually higher. Paragliding height record is 3300 m. Usually the weather is a bit windy and it allows to start XC flight even from places with low altitude, waiting in the dynamics for thermals to start work. This factor also allow to fly open distance XC flights. Distance record in Crimea is 140 km.

The Crimea peninsula is washed by in the Black Sea on the south and west, on the east it is washed by the Azov Sea. In the north it is connected to the mainland by a narrow (8 km) Perecop isthmus. Area - about 26 860 km ² of which 72 % plain, 20% the mountains and 8% lakes and other water bodies. By the nature of the landscape it is divided into two parts: the flatlands (70 % of the territory ) and mountains. The highest point of the peninsula - mount Roman -Kosh has the height of 1,545 m ASL. Distance from west coast of the Crimea to the east – 326 km, from north to south (from Perekop isthmus to Cape Nicholas) - 205 km . Mountain system is formed by the three mountain ridges, from cape Aya (Balaclava region) in the west to Cape St.. Ilya in Feodosia in the east. The length of the Crimean Mountains range is about 160 km, a width is about 50 km. The outer ridge is a series of rocks, that gradually rise to about 350 m. Inner ridge reaches 750 m.

Also the Crimea has a rich competition history. First paragliding competitions took place here at 1999. And after that a lot others among which: 2013 Koktebel Cup, 2012 Crimea Paragliding Cup, 2012 Koktebel Cup Open, 2011 Crimea Paragliding Cup,

Take off mountain Klementyeva - 344 ASL (UTM 36 T 676799 4987414 )
Its a part of Uzun-Syrt ridge. Its shape and its profile, and weather conditions allow to fly all year round. If you look at it from above, it resembles a giant bracket that opens to the sea. Ridge stretched from west to east for seven and a half kilometers. The western part of the mountain top ends by Kok-Lyuk. Plateau rises above sea level to a height of 268m, rock Kok-Lyuk – on 344m. Within a radius of 3 km there are a few starts on any direction of the wind (except western). Floor slope steppe grass, small limestone . Height difference of 200 meters of the southern slope gradient of 50 ° -70 °, north start planting drop over 80 meters, the slope of the take-off is 30 ° -40 °. Entrance to the start is the asphalt road, plus a small portion compactor. There are more than 30 launch sites in the Crimea, for almost every wind direction. Some of them are more suitable for competitions. According to weather conditions, some other launch sites can be used – Bor-Kaya, Agarmysh, Ak-kaya, Sary-kaya and others.

Landings
A lot of place for landing on the top and also on the bottom. Also unlimited quantity of landing places while flying XC in the steppe part of Crimea. A mountain forest area of Crimea have limited places to land.

Entry fee - 60 euro in local currency to be paid upon arrival.
