Event info
Now in it's 6ᵗʰ year, pilots love the fun and friendly atmosphere, the in-depth daily briefings and the easy access to some of the best pilots in the world. You will find this to be the perfect springboard into competition flying, or maybe you will see it as the ideal environment in which to improve your XC skills. Or simply enjoy flying in an international, friendly setting where the flying and social experience counts for much more than the results.
Naviter are specialists for instruments, so expect there to be plenty of teaching on how you can improve your flying in this area. Indeed, Naviter are considered the leading instrument manufacturer for XC & Competition flying, and you will rarely see a top pilot without one.
The Naviter Open is a CAT 2 competition open to all Serial Class pilots (Pilots flying EN-A to EN-D wings). It is being held in Tolmin, Slovenia. The event is being supported by Naviter and and the Naviter Team.
At the end, we will be giving away lots of prizes through our famous 'names in a hat' system we have used each year. There will be Naviter Oudie N's, Hypers, Flytec instruments and more. But you have to be there to win. For 2022 you can expect a few of the new Oudie 'N' series instruments to be up for grabs!
The week before the Naviter Open is the Freedom Open. If you would also like to participate in that then you can find the details here: Freedom Open
Slovenia is a beautiful venue and the flying is awesome. Set in the heart of the Julian Alps, you have it all. Grassy launches, amazing scenery and huge landing fields. Typical tasking is 40-80km flying in a pure Alpine environment. The Soca valley is very friendly, with landouts throughout in generally large, open fields. Typically we do not have strong valley winds. The backdrop of the Julian Alps is stunning, often still with Snow capped mountains in June. The camp site, where the event is based, makes the perfect venue for us to be hosted, with a bar, food and landing field all on hand. Otherwise, it is just a short drive to the town where you can find an array of hotels and accommodations to suit all budgets.
We look forward to flying with you here!
Selection and entry fee
If you receive a payment offer, you will have 7 days to pay, otherwise we will offer your place to another pilot on the waiting list.
For this year we will again only be asking for a deposit, with the balance of payment being due to the local organisers at the event, in June.
Do ensure you have read the cancellation policy before making any payment!
------------
The event is a Serial Class only competition. That means no CCC gliders. But EN-D's and below are allowed. We want to have a fun week where everyone feels like they have a chance of scoring well, regardless of what they fly.
The entry fee will be €280 euro and details of how to pay will be sent to the selected pilots. The short version though: 80€ will be paid now, as a deposit. The balance of 200€ will be paid to the local organisers, at the event.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION BY YOU
Any pilots who cancels their registration will be given refunds as follows:
> Cancellation date more than 30 days before competition start date = payment this season: entry price less 80€. If you did not pay the full entry fee then only the amount over 80€ will be refunded (ie 0€ refund of 80€ deposit).
> Cancellation date 30 days or less before comp start date = 0% refund of entry price
> If you are unable to attend, please contact us in advance of the event start. This allows us to adjust our infrastructure, where we are able. If we do not hear from you or you simple do not show then there will be no refund. No shows will cause us unacceptable losses through pre-organised infrastructure, staff etc.
Cancellations must be informed by email and the date at which the email is received will be used to calculate your refund, if one is due.
Please be aware, refunds, if due, are not immediate. If we are busy in the main flying season then we only do admin 1 day per month. Your deposit and/or payment is NOT transferable. There is a strict selection process and you cannot bypass this by passing your payment to another pilot. Prior year payment refunds, according to terms that season.
Please ensure you have adequate holiday travel insurance to cover any losses if you later find you are unable to participate. Covid cancellations are no longer an excuse for a refund.
