XKAP1111 Project has started on Airtribune on May 27, 2015. Pierandrea Patrucco a famous Italian pilot will cross the whole Italy from North to South with goal on Sicily. Yes! He wishes to cross the strait of Messina by paraglider.
Pierandrea Patrucco, also known under his nickname Kavia, 57 years old, lives in Loranzè (Piemont, Italy). Holder of many records both national and international ones he practices free flight (paragliding, hang gliding, sailplane) since 80s. The fame came to him in 1992 when he made a paragliding flight from Montecarlo to Nice and back.
His first CAP project (bivouac flight) was made in 2008 and was called KAP444 when he crossed the Alps from Montecarlo to Slovenian-Italian Border. The idea is to go on route solely by paraglider and to start the same place you land. His second project KAP1111 took place in 2009 but he had to stop it due to unfavourable alpine weather conditions after he passed 950 km.
Now is the third attempt - most exciting and most ambitious!
