Under New Ownership
We have some news for you....

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP
After 5 greats years development, Alex has decided to hand on the future of Airtribune. It has been a great adventure, but to give new energy and bring new life & direction to Airtribune, it is time to pass things to a new owner.

We are therefore pleased to announce the Brett Janaway has taken over ownership of Airtribune and will be leading it into the next phases of development.

Brett has long been known for his involvement in the tracking world, having worked with some great organisations to bring tracking and competitions together. With a focus on safety of pilots and the automating of scoring, his ideas have revolutionized his own events and those around him. Under the guise of FlyEvent, Brett has been renting Flymaster trackers to events worldwide for a number of years, and has over 500 units available. As well as tracking, Brett is also a director of the sport and competitions chairman in the UK, organizer of the GIN Wide Open, Naviter Open, FlyFurther XC camp and other competitions. In terms of Online websites, he already hosts a number of smaller projects, many of which he developed the code himself. But it is as a project engineer his skills are best. He is also a handy XC paraglider and Hang glider pilot, holding a few World Records to his name.

The Airtribune project is huge. To develop a website from the ground up has taken massive input from a large team of professional developers. But the world of tracking does not stand still and there is still lots to do. Hike and Fly events are an interesting development in recent years, with the success of the Red Bull X-Alps leading the way. Other mainstream sports outside of paragliding are just starting to explore tracking. But we also need to keep improving the service we have and fixing the flaws as we find them. There is still a lot of programming to do!

So what does the future hold?
Well, first, please bear with us. The service is all very new to Brett, and he has lots to learn. In addition, we have had some server issues in recent weeks which we have been chasing and repairing. So the first task has to be stabilizing what we have and ensuring an uninterrupted service to current events.

Elena will continue to be a part of Airtribune, assisting with planning your events from first registration through to running the event.

Thereafter you can expect some new facilities to come online. At the top of the list for Brett is the following, but he is open to ideas and to prioritizing, so if you have a facility you need then drop us an email.
1. Expanding the device types accepted to include the Flymaster product as a personal device not just for events
2. New export features to link into the excellent SeeYou scoring software now the official platform of the FAI with continued support for FScomp
3. For our regular event organisers direct integration with Paypal for faster event setting up
4. To include new functions for event organisers including an easier to use status interface
5. New ways to delivery the results to pilots online and through mobile Apps (iOS & Android)
6. A new leaderboard to include leadput points as a task develops to see the TRUE leader.
7. Exploring the realms of Hike & Fly Paragliding
8. To upgrade the 3D viewer for an even better experience

What would you like to see changed or improved on Airtribune?

Other imminent changes
We have already imigrated the hosting to a new server and i hope by the time you read this it is complete. There may be some minor disruption to service, but hopefully this will not last long. The new servers are expected to provide even better reliability and improved power.

Flymaster Device Rental Offer
If you have an upcoming event and would prefer the reliability and ease of use of the Flymaster '360' trackers, then Airtribune is now able to supply them in sets, ready to use, from quantities of 20 to 150. The cost depends on several factors, but in general you can expect to pay around 15 Euro per tracker, per week, inclusive of all data. For the next six months we are happy to offer a 30% discount on all tracker rentals and half price access to the Airtribune tracking service. Perfect for your next event.

We are hiring...
Looking to get involved in a big project?

We are interested in keen developers in Python, iOS, Android and other common IT aspects and languages, to help us develop the Airtribune project into the best it can be. An understanding of tracking, events and competitions is an advantage. There is some financial reward for the right developers, although commercial rates are beyond the sport we participate in.

If you think you have the right motivation and skills to become involved then drop us an email.

So here we go....
Welcome to the next era of Airtribune. Lets take your events to the next level.
