Welcome to the 2017 Ukraine & Moldova Open! It will be held from Jule 30 till August 5, 2017, with August 6 reserve day, in the famous Ukrainian flying site Polonina Borzhava ridge in Carpathian Mountains.

Flying site

Gymba mountain (48.63, 23.27, 1491m), Polonina Borzhava ridge in Carpathian Mountains.
Start place is on the top of the Gymba mountain, is possible in all directions. The start place is grassy, covered with low blueberry bushes, thats enough space for starting out of several dozen paragliders at the same time.
The main ridge is Polonina Borzhava, about 50 km long, with a width of 3-4 km (up to 10 km and more), the highest peak is Stij Mount (1681 m).
Flights conducted usually within a 50 km radius from the start place along of the main ridge, through the valleys and along several neighboring ridges, which are slightly lower.

Selection and entry fee

Entry fee:
100 Euro equivalent up to 01.07.2017.
120 Euro equivalent after 01.07.2017.
Payment details will be informed to participants by email on request.

Typical competition day schedule (depending on the actual weather conditions) :
09:00 Headquarter opens,
09:45 Daily briefing, meteo, announcement of results – at Headquarter;
10:00 Transportation to take off,
12:00 Pilots briefing / Task briefing at start place;
12:30-17:30 Flying time;
18:00-20:00 Scoring time;
20:00 Provisional results (depending on the last pilot being retrieved);

From 3-4 Euro + 3-4 Euro 2 meals a day.

Tent
With your own tent a place for it will be granted.
From 1 Euro - for place tent (all period), + 0.5 Euro - one person/24h for shower, bathroom in hotel.

Plane
The nearest international airports are Lviv (~200km) and Kyiv (~700km). From there you can to get to Pylypets village by train.

Car
Take road E471 till Nyzhni Vorota; next ~ 20km Volovets; next ~15km Pylypets; next ~5km “Shepit karpat” hotel.

Train
