The weather turns soarable in February/March in Florida and Wilotree Park is a great place for cross country flying.
Flying site
Wilotree Field (formerly Sheets airfield) is located one mile south of Groveland in Florida, United States. Groveland itself is situated in Lake County, in the centre of the state. The surrounding area is dominated by pasture lands intermixed with treed swamps and some residential areas.

Fly into Orlando. Head west on the turnpike. Get off at highway 50. Continue west to highway 33. Turn left. Go two miles.

The weather turns soarable in February/March in Florida and Wilotree Park is a great place for cross country flying. This is a perfect opportunity to learn cross country skills and stretch your cross country experience. It is a great warm up to the 2019 Green Swamp Sport Klassic, happening the week after this clinic.
There will be advanced pilot mentors to help with each small groups of pilots. Evening get togethers to go over the day's experience and lessons in using flight instruments and forecasting the weather.
Hang 2 rating with aerotow sign off. Aerotow practice and sign off is available before and during the event.

Aeortow fee: We have yet to determine how aerotowing will be charged. Likely to be $30/tow.

After the registration please follow your status on the Pilots tab. Here is an explanation of statuses:
Missing Requirements – Registered but we have not received (and reviewed) signed waivers and medical forms nor received payment.
Waiting for payment – Registered and received and reviewed signed waivers and medical form but not payment.
In progress – Registered and received payment but not signed (and reviewed) waivers and medical form.
Confirmed – Registered and received and reviewed signed waivers and medical form and payment.
Waiting list - (this is the default that Airtribune sets automatically when you register) probably we haven't yet set you as "Missing Requirements," which we do unless we see that you have done more than register. But, while we've never had a Waiting List before, who knows, we may have one in the future and you may be on it.
Prize fund and scoring categories
General schedule
Check-in 10 am to noon, 1 pm to 4:30 pm, outside under the tent near club house. Please arrive in time for check-in and later for meeting with mentors.
Get together, 5:30 pm, Saturday, March 16th, near the club house at the picnic tables. Mentors meet their first small groups afterward.
Safety and Pilot Briefing, 9 am Sunday, March 16th.
Sunday, March 17th through Saturday, March 23rd - Competition flying days.

How to get here
Wilotree Park, nee Sheets field is about two miles south of Groveland, Florida, on highway 33. It is a left turn at a busy bend in the road (be careful). Headquarters is the club house, first building on the right.

The nearest international airport is Orlando. From there you take a car to Quest Air hang gliding club.
Car
It take about 1 hour driving from Orlando. Take highways 528, Florida's turnpike and FL-50 to get to Sheets airfield. This route is about 42 miles.
