Bir Billing is one of the nature wonders. This is perfectly designed as a launch pad,has become a legend on the international paragliding circuits and a destination for world champion paragliding pilots. The green meadow directly above the villages of Bir and Chaughan,is one of the best gliding sites in the world. The massive Dhauladhar mountain range and the kangra valley below with its panoramic views offer opportunities for high altitude’up and down’and ‘all over the world flying for more than 200-km.

International teams come to challenge the record every May for the Himalayan Hang-Gliding Rally, while paragliders compete in the Himalayan Open in autumn. Now many records are built and broken as this place has become a paradise for paragliders. Special facts of whether about this location which make it incredible-
Thermals of 6-12 meters/sec in May – June, 4 to 8 meter per second and in October – November. It is maximum 7 meter per second. Normally 2-7 meters per second. 4000-6000 meters of cloud base.

Accommodation and Activities

How to get here

1. From Other Country to Delhi/Amritsar : Delhi/Amritsar is well connected with domestic and international flights, to all the major cities within and outside India. However Delhi should be first choice because almost all the major airlines have their flights operating from Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi.

2. Delhi/Amritsar to Bir: Bir Billing is located at a high altitude due to which there is no direct flight connectivity to the town. Since there is no direct airport in Bir, one has to travel to the nearest airport which is at a distance of 68 km, known as the Kangra airport in Dharamshala. Also the best way to reach Bir is by taking an overnight bus private from Delhi/Amritsar to Bir. Ahju railway station is the nearest railway station, which is only 3 km(Toy Train). away from Bir, although the nearest broad gauge railway station is in Pathankot, which is 142.2 km.
