PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING - This competition is open to current pilot rated and above members of the BHPA (British Hang gliding and Paragliding Association), please DO NOT register if you are not a member or your registration will be cancelled. This is the second and final round in the 2025 BPCup series.
Who are the BPCup pilots? Our competitors are pilots from a wide range of backgrounds all drawn together by a shared love of flying paragliders and quite often just starting out on their competitive journey. We aim to give you a fun competition focused on learning and mentoring with a friendly team headed by our Meet Director who takes care of all the onerous weather forecast interpretation, site choice and task setting, leaving you to just take off and enjoy flying the tasks. Some of our pilots come back to us year after year and several others have gone on to make their mark in the wider paragliding world.
You will find lots of useful information and answers to your questions on the BPCup website and the General heading is particularly useful for new competition pilots or for those with dodgy memories - https://www.bpcup.co.uk/faq
Your competition entry fee includes:
Daily weather briefings and task setting
Minibus transport to takeoff and retrieve after flying
Chairlift ticket when flying Sopot takeoff
Safety trackers
Lunch Pack (typically a sandwich and fruit)
Dinner for all competitors one evening
Souvenir competition T shirt
Ambulance, including 4x4 vehicle
Mountain Rescue Team on take-off and with the competition for the duration
Thanks to Barbara St Aubyn and Elliott Brown for the photos and Robin Wallace for the video.
