Mt. Yamaska is a well known area for cross-country in East Canada, between April to October. The mountain is surrounded by endless agricultural fields were improvised landing fields are easy to find. Cites and villages are easy to land close to and are connected with many roads. Cross-country flights usually end up with a good meal and a beer surrounded by friends in one of many pubs in the region.

The thermals during the August period are very smooth, ranging from 1 to 5 m/s with cloud base between 1500m to 2000m. The cloud base rises progressively as you progress to the East because of elevation rising on the beginning of the Appalachian mountains range. 100 km flights are common each year in the area. The area record is at 162 km done last year on a Gin Carrera paraglider.

The Canadian paragliding championship was held 4 times already (2006, 2009, 2013 and 2014).

The site has takeoffs in the South, West and North directions. There is a East takeoff but it is not often used.
Winds are usually from the south to the west in August and the flying routes goes in any direction except to the West where there is a flight zone restriction. Anyway this direction usually goes against dominating winds during that period.

Landing zones are located on the North (Club HQ) and the West of the mountain.
