Pieve d'Alpago is a small town in the province of Belluno in Italian region of Veneto, located about 80 km North of Venice and about 11 km NE of Belluno. It has hosted Polish Nationals already three times – and always welcomed the participants with good flying conditions.

This year Czech and Slovak Paragliding Open invites you to Italy to Pieve d' Alpago - a famous flying site in Dolomite alps. The event will be held on July 3-9, 2016, with one reserve day. Pieve D'Alpago has many times hosted National pagliding championships.

Flying site

Pieve d'Alpago is a small town in the province of Belluno in Italian region of Veneto, located about 80 km North of Venice and about 11 km NE of Belluno. It has hosted Polish Nationals already three times – and always welcomed the participants with good flying conditions. Tasks are normally set to the West from the take-off and also to the South into the flat lands. On a good flying day a standard trip will be to go to Feltre and back.

Mt Dolada
Take-off: 1494 m ASL (N 46.1917°, E 12.3527°)
Landing: 598 m ASL (N 46.1582°, E 12.3684°)
The main take-off will be Monte Dolada right above Pieve. From the centre of Pieve there are signs directing you up the road to launch ground. A tarmac road ends with a car park. From there it’s an easy 100-m walk to the take-off located just behind the mountain hostel "Rifugio Dolada". The landing is located in Garna. It’s a big grassy field next to a small building of the local paragling club Dolada.

Selection and entry fee

140 EUR until 31.5.2016
160 EUR from 1.6.2016

90 places reserved for the Czech and Slovak pilots until 9th MAY 2016.
The remaining 30 places will be allocated to foreign pilots according to their WPRS ranking. Selection will be announced on 9th May 2016 - the selected pilots will receive an email with payment details.

Accommodation and Activities

Accommodation is in a camp, basically on the landing area. 5 Euro per person/night.

The easiest way to come to Pieve d'Alpago is through Treviso or Venice Marco Polo International Airport.

Plane

The nearest airports are Venice Marco Polo or Treviso. To get to Venezia or Mestre train stations take an ATVO bus. Time table prices and routes are here http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en.

Bus

On some days its possible to take a bus going to Cortina D'Ampezzo which stops at Ponte nelle Alpi. The intercity and airtport bus shuttle service is done by AVTO http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en.

Train

The nearest train station to Pieve D'alpago is Ponte nelle Alpi. Main rail road stations to get there are Venezia and Mestre.

Car

Garna di Pieve D’Alpago can be easily reached by car. Take the A27 motorway heading towards Belluno / Cortina D’ampezzo for about 70 km and take the Fadalto / Lago di S.Croce exit. From there, follow the indications to CANSIGLIO ALPAGO. Go past Farra D’Alpago up to a big roundabout and take the first exit, follow the indications to Puos D’Alpago, once at the crossing, go straight ahead towards Pieve D’Alpago, after 3 km you will reach Garna.

Rent-a-car
There are a lot of rent a car services in Marco Polo International Airport and on Piazzale Roma in Venezia. All major brands like Hetz, Europcar, Sixt etc can be found there.
