LOS DESPEGUES:
Hay 3 despegues de competición, Las Rozas a 1300, Las Sabinas a 2000 y Cahuchiles a 2700.

LAS RUTAS:
Las rutas clásicas de Sierra Nevada son:

· De La Alhambra al mar... Saliendo desde el despegue de Las Rozas en Monachil a 1350 metros y viendo Granada al fondo, tenemos La Alhambra a escasos 6 km del despegue y desde allí, pasando por el Pico Veleta o el Mulhacén (+3400) se hace un planeo de casi 40 km sobre Las Alpujarras, se llega a Castell de Ferro o la Playa de Carchuna. Esta ruta en el mundial del 2001 se ha hecho con un pequeño circuito de 50 km después del start, que además fue record del mundo en velocidad.

· De la montaña al desierto... Saliendo desde cualquier despegue, y haciendo techo en las cumbres, siguiendo la confluencia que a veces se monta entre el viento norte en altura con el este o sur del mediterráneo, se llega hasta la zona de Guadix-La Calahorra y de allí saltando al altiplano casi desértico de Baza. En la PWC 1998 se ha hecho la prueba Granada-Baza de 75 km en 1:30 !!!!

· Granada-Albacete... Saliendo sobre la misma confluencia en la montaña, pero con una componente sur, en altura, la confluencia se gira al norte en los alrededores de Guadix y enlaza con la sierra de Cazorla y el Yelmo en donde la confluencia está alimentada por los vientos del este que se unen a los del oeste haciendo un camino directo al norte... Al mirar el enlace en la PWC del 2000 2008.paraglidingworldcup.org, veréis que aún tenemos el primer lugar en km volados, en varios apartados...!!!! con esta configuración de vientos:


Hay otras rutas que llamamos "La Vuelta al Ruedo"... Con aterizaje en despegue y que, dependiendo de la meteo, se hacen más o menos largas... Ejemplo:

1- Los Picos: recorrer los 3 miles.

2- Almería y volver... En una manga de PWC, después de hacer 100 km, 100 pilotos aterrizan en gol a 2700 metros, vaya, vaya.

3- Triángulo de 50 km (en 2001 fue record mundial).

4- Montaña y llano. Al principio se vuela en media y alta montaña hacia el este, luego al norte a Sierra Harana, al oeste hasta Alfacar y al sur hasta el despegue,(mejor vuelo Ramón Morillas 80 km en dos horas y 15, año 2007).
