The Fatra Paragliding Cup is a FAI CAT 2 competition and also Slovak championship for 2018. It is being held in Martin, Turiec region surrounded by Fatra mountains.

The region of Turiec spreads in the north-western part of Slovakia in the Turčianska kotlina basin surrounded by the mountain ranges of Malá and Veľká Fatra, Kremnické vrchy, and Žiar.

The Fatra Paragliding Cup is a FAI CAT 2 competition and also Slovak championship for 2018. It is being held in Martin, Turiec region surrounded by Fatra mountains.

The region of Turiec spreads in the north-western part of Slovakia in the Turčianska kotlina basin surrounded by the mountain ranges of Malá and Veľká Fatra, Kremnické vrchy, and Žiar. The axis of the valley is the Turiec river. For its beauty and natural assets, this region is one of the most picturesque in the territory of Slovakia and it is sometimes referred to as the "garden of Turiec". The Malá and Veľká Fatra Mts. are ideal for many sports like hiking, cycling, paragliding and mountaineering.

Selection and entry fee

The competition is open to all pilots from countries that are members or associated members of FAI. Entry forms will be filled during the registration.

Pilots
The requirements for a pilot to enter this competition are:
• Valid pilot license and valid FAI sporting license
• IPPI card min. level 4
• Medical insurance covering paragliding with mountain rescue assistance
• Third party liability insurance covering paragliding
• It is highly recommended that all pilots fly with unmodified and certified helmet, harness, paraglider and rescue parachute, 2m radio & mobile phone
• to prove the airworthiness of his glider (valid technical check if glider is older than 2 years)

Entry fee
140 EUR entry fee paid by bank transfer or by PayPal till May 1st
160 EUR after May 1st or during the registration

50 places are reserved for the national Slovak pilots till May 1st

- retrieve from the main routes for all the registered pilots during all competition days (no private retrieval from anywhere)

Prize fund and scoring categories

Fatra paragliding Cup is competition in cross country discipline and it is an open competition. Its results will be calculated in Overall (max. CCC), Sport (max. EN-C) and Standard class (max. EN-B) if there is more than 5 competitors per category. Woman category will be also scored separately.
All categories compete for FAI points (WPRS). Please, look at the local rules as well as FAI Rule book (section 7, class O), as this competition is FAI 2 category, which automatically implies all FAI rules.

How to get here

The easiest way to get to HQ is by car, but there are also connections by bus or by train to Turany from the main Slovakian cities as Martin. From Turany we can supply transport to HQ.
