Event info
At its first edition (the 2020 one was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic), FLORY CUP 2023 takes place in the wonderful scenario of Valle San Floriano, which is located in Marostica, province of Vicenza, Italy.
The village is located at the bottom of a valley, crossed by the Valletta stream which, opening onto the Venetian plain, wedges itself among the hills that comes before the Asiago plateau.
In the area multiple outdoor activities can be performed and many are the trekking paths crossing the hilly area of Marostica.
The 2023 edition of the FLORY CUP is a "satellite" event of the Montegrappa Trophy and it is designed to offer more space to young pilots and women (Young and Ladies formula), in order to give them the possibility of improving one's competition flying skills and one's FAI ranking, in a particularly suitable environment (excellent take-off, easy landing, optimal aerological and thermal conditions).
For this reason, out of the 120 places available, 25 are reserved for under 26 years old pilots and another 25 places are reserved for women (further details on local regulations).
Selection and entry fee
Regular entry fee is € 190.00. If registration is made after 7th February 2023 or if payment is made after the established deadline, the entry fee is € 230.00.
Registration
Pre-registration can be done only through the web site https://airtribune.com
Regular pre-registration will be open from 1st January until 7th February 2023.
All pre-registrations made after this time will be considered "late registration".
Participants and selection
The maximum number of participants admitted to the competition is 120:
• 110 places will be assigned to pilots selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system (reference date 31st January 2023) [1] [2] [3];
• 7 wild cards, assigned by the organizers;
• 3 wild cards assigned by the Italian Team Leader.
[1] In compliance with the Italian National Sporting Code 2020 (app. B.3), in the first selection round the 40% of the available places will be guaranteed to Italian pilots and the selection will be made following the Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31st October 2022). If an Italian pilot renounces or does not pay the entry fee within the established deadline, his/her place will be reassigned to another pilot, selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system.
[2] 25 places are reserved for young pilots under 26 years old. The 26th birthday must take place after the last day of competition (therefore after 04th April 2023). If an under 26 years old pilot renounces or does not pay the entry fee within the established deadline, his/her place will be reassigned to another pilot, selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system.
[3] 25 places are reserved for women. If a female pilot renounces or does not pay the entry fee within the established deadline, her place will be reassigned to another pilot, selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system.
The selection will start on 8th February and the final list will be published within 10th February 2023. In case of equal rankings, priority will be given to the first pilot who made the pre-registration.
Registration to the competition becomes effective only after the entry fees payment, which has to be done within 6 days from the confirmation date. Confirmation will be sent to pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants.
Pilots who won’t pay within the payment deadline, will be moved at the bottom of the selection list and their status will be changed in "waiting list".
Organizers have the right to not accept the registration of pilots considered not eligible or in case the compliance with legal requirements cannot be verified.
