Weis flying site is located in the province of Kermanshah in Iran. It offers interesting XC routes across Northern Zagros Mountains with its peaks of 2000-2500 m ASL. Kermanshah climate is heavily influenced by the Zagros mountains, classified as a hot dry summer Mediterranean climate. The place's altitude and exposed location relative to westerly winds makes precipitation a little bit high (more than twice that of Tehran), but at the same time produces huge diurnal temperature swings especially in the virtually rainless summers, which remain extremely hot during the day.
The valley floor is rather high about 1200-1300 m ASL but strong thermal activity allows to keep flying altitude at about 4000 m ASL. Best flying season is summer. In July there are strong thermals about 5 m/s and the cloud base is about 5000 m also there are blue thermals.

Take off - 1730 ASL 34°30'25.4"N 46°51'51.8"E (34.507070, 46.864380)
It's a flat stony ground wide enough for 8 gliders. Wind direction West and South West, wind limits 5 to 20 km/h. Preferable take off time at noon and the desirable wind keeps till 17 o'clock.
The take off has good road connection - 30 km by asphalt road.
