Decollo Monte Caio is located in Comune Palanzano of Schia Montecaio in Provincia di Parma. It offers a number of fine XC routes in all directions.Most interesting are the flights made along Appenina mountain chain in the directions of the border with Toscana.

Here we are again... after the cancellation due the Pandemic last year! About the 2021 edition the organization is optimist and trustfull that it will be possible to have the event depsite the Covid-19 health emergency.
The Italian Paragliding Open 2021 edition will take place in Schia, Tizzano Val Parma, in the heart of one of the most famous food valley in the world.
The takeoff of Monte Caio is about 10 minutes by car from the village and the area around it, part of the National Park Appennino Tosco Emiliano, offers multiple outdoor activities.

Selection and entry fee
All registrations made after this time will be considered "late registration".
Selection will start on 10 May, 2021 and the final list will be published within 13 May, 2021.
Spots will be assigned to Italian pilots according to Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31 October, 2020).
Other pilots will be selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system (reference date 1st May 2021).
The Payment process, will start in June but the pilots will have to confirm they partecipation once selected.
- 60% of available spots are reserved to Italian pilots (until the second selection round). The selection will be made following the Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31 October, 2020).
- 10 spots are reserved to female pilots (until the first selection round).
- 10 wild cards (to be assigned by the organizers and the Italian Team Leader)
- other available spots will be assign to foreign pilots (according to Section 7 for FAI 2 Events)
In case of equal rankings, priority will be given to the first pilot who made the registration.
Registration to the competition becomes effective only after the entry fee payment, which has to be done within 7 days from the confirmation date. Confirmation will be sent to pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants.
Pilots who won’t pay within the payment deadline, will be moved at the bottom of the selection list and their status will be changed in "waiting list".
Organizers have the right to not accept the registration of pilots considered not eligible or in case the compliance with legal requirements cannot be verified.
ENTRY FEE
- Regular entry fee is 200 €
- If registration is made after May 9, 2021 or if payment is made after the established deadline, the entry fee is 230 €.

*Due the covid-19 emergency some non-essential services may be changed in favor of healt care services
Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents
Cancellation Policy
A final decision will be taken before the Payment process begins.
REFUND POLICY
In case of no valid tasks, the organisation will return to any participant part of the entry fee. The amount will be defined on the basis of the expenses afforded by organizers.
If a pilot withdraws from the competition by June 31, 2021, the entire registration fee will be refunded, minus 30%, to cover organizational costs. The refund will be made at the end of the competition.
Cancellations from July 1, 2021 and until the start of the competition won't be refunded.
Prize fund and scoring categories
The Competition will assign the “Trofeo dei 100 Laghi 2021 OPEN”, with a minimum of 1 (one) flown task.
The following rankings will be produced:
- Open Class – International
- Open Class – Italian Championship
- Female Category – International (with at least 5 participants)
- Female Category – Italian Championship (with at least 5 participants)
- Serial Class - International
- Serial Class - Italian Championship
- Sport Class – International (with at least 5 participants)
- Team
OPEN Class:
Includes all the partecipants (up to CCC certified gliders)
SERIAL Class
Includes all the partecipants, except pilots using:
- CCC (CIVL Competition Class) certified gliders;
- Any certified glider with Flat Aspect Ratio over 7.0;
SPORT CLASS
Includes all the partecipants using B or C certified gliders
Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to collect the prize.
We do not accept proxies. Prizes not claimed will remain at the organization.

Plane
Nearest Airports: Parma (PMF), Bologna (BLQ), Milan Orio Al Serio (BGY), Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Linate (LIN).
From there you can take a train+bus or car to arrive to Schia.
Bus
From Parma Bus Station take Line 12 to Langhirano. From Langhirano Bus Station Take Line 2640 to arrive to Tizzano Val Parma from there organization will organize transport to HQ.

The nearesta irport is Bologna. Fro there you can take a car to get to the Monte Caio.
Car
By A1 high way to Parma and then by SP665 to Schia.
Come arrivare in auto: Da Parma seguire le indicazioni per Langhirano, quindi proseguire in direzione Tizzano val Parma (nei week end e festivi il ritrovo dei volatori locali è presso la pasticceria del paese). Da qui seguire le indicazioni per Musiara, superare gli impianti di risalita della stazione invernale Pian delle Giare e immettersi nella strada sterrata recante l’indicazione decollo.
Si ricorda che l’ultimo tratto di strada sterrata è consentito ai veicoli solo se muniti di apposita autorizzazione.
