Event info
The A competition is one component of the Lakes Charity Classic (LCC) fund-raising paragliding competition that is held in the mountainous Lake District of north-west England. It is run by the local Cumbria Soaring Club (CSC).
The A competition is for PILOT rated participants. Any EN certified wing is permitted. Tandems are allowed with one named pilot in charge and scoring.
In parallel to the A competition is the COACHING group, B competition and the X-Lakes hike and fly HARDCORE and 1-day ACADEMY events.
The B competition is suitable for pilots new to comp flying, lower airtime pilots or those with less mountain flying experience. Friendly tasks will be set. Open to CLUB PILOT and above rated participants flying EN B / DHV 1-2 gliders and below.
For non-competing pilots the COACHING group option supports less experienced pilots to get airtime.

Accommodation and Activities
Camping on site is available for £10 per person per night payable on arrival. Pre-booking is not necessary. Modestly sized motorhomes and caravans are welcomed on the sports field. Camping is available from Thursday to Sunday afternoon. The grassy tented areas are flat and it is usually possible to park alongside your tent. Free showers. There are NO electric hookups for campervans.
Non-competitors are also welcome to camp and join in. Details will be in the competitor's information pack sent nearer the time.
If you prefer not to camp, search the usual online accommodation portals for Grasmere Village options to suit most budgets.
The X-Lakes hike and fly challenges are now officially Cumbria Soaring Club events and will again run alongside the LCC. They overlap with the LCC events so it is not possible to take part in both.
