Tegri Cup XC 2026 is proudly organized by Tegri Paragliding Club, a member of the Mongolian Paragliding Association.
This event marks Tegri Paragliding Club’s first international cross-country (XC) paragliding competition.
Flying site
The competition will take place in the vast open landscapes surrounding Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The flying area offers mountain, ridge, and flatland cross-country potential with large open landing options and scenic Mongolian steppe terrain.

Tegri Cup XC 2026 is proudly organized by Tegri Paragliding Club, a member of the Mongolian Paragliding Association.
This event marks Tegri Paragliding Club’s first international cross-country (XC) paragliding competition. While the organizing team is relatively new to hosting an event of this scale, they are working closely with experienced international friends and supporters from Korea, Norway and the United States. Through this collaboration, the team is committed to delivering a competition that is safe, well-organized, and truly memorable for all participants.
The timing of Tegri Cup XC 2026 intentionally coincides with Mongolia’s most important national celebration, the Naadam Festival. The event schedule has been carefully planned to ensure no conflict with Naadam festivities, allowing pilots and visitors to fully enjoy both the competition and the cultural celebrations.
Beyond flying, Tegri Cup XC 2026 offers participants a unique opportunity to experience Mongolian culture firsthand—from traditional sports and music to local food, customs, and the vast open landscapes of the steppe. We warmly invite our international friends not only to compete, but also to immerse themselves in this special time of year in Mongolia.
We look forward to welcoming pilots from around the world to share exceptional flying, cultural exchange, and unforgettable memories at Tegri Cup XC 2026.
Flying site
Selection and entry fee
Only EN-B and EN-C certified gliders are permitted. D gliders and CCC gliders are not allowed.
All pilots must hold valid third-party liability insurance and an appropriate pilot license recognized by FAI or their national association.
The entry fee includes:
Competition organization
Live tracking
Safety and retrieval coordination
Event transportation during official competition days
Opening and closing ceremonies
Final payment details will be provided to confirmed pilots.
Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

FAI IPPI Card
The FAI IPPI card is an International card that states your skill level. It is issued by your National Association and matches the level or your flying Licence

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Identification documents needed
You will need to provide photo ID on arrival. This could be Passport, Driving Licence or National ID, for example.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents

Rescue/Medical Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your medical, rescue and repatriation insurance. You can purchase Global Rescue cover from Airtribune
Cancellation Policy
If a pilot cancels before June 1, 2026, 70% of the entry fee will be refunded.
If a pilot cancels after June 1, 2026, refunds may not be guaranteed due to organizational costs already incurred.
In case of force majeure, weather, or government restrictions, the organizer reserves the right to modify the schedule or cancel the event if necessary.
Prize fund and scoring categories
General schedule
July 15 – Official practice day and opening ceremony
July 16–20 – Competition task days and closing ceremony
Depending on weather and safety conditions, 3 to 4 competition tasks are planned during the event period.
The schedule may be adjusted by the organization team if necessary.
Daily schedule
11:00 – Transport to take-off
11:20 – Pilot briefing and lunch
12:00 – Task and safety committee meeting
12:30 – Task announcement
13:00 – Take-off window opens
18:00 – Deadline / Retrieval coordination
20:00 – Provisional results and daily information
Daily schedule can change, depending of the weather conditions.
Accommodation and Activities
Accommodation options in Ulaanbaatar and near the competition area will be announced before the event.
Pilots and guests will also have opportunities to experience Mongolian culture, local food, Naadam Festival activities, and sightseeing during the competition period.
Accommodation will be provided by the organization team in a comfortable guesthouse-style lodging.
Clean rooms, fresh bedding, and essential facilities will be prepared for all pilots. Staying together in one location will make transportation, daily coordination, and communication much easier during the competition.
The shared accommodation will also provide a great opportunity for international pilots to meet, connect, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the event together.
We are working to provide a cozy and welcoming environment for all participants during their stay in Mongolia.
How to get here
Here are nternational direct (non-stop) flights to Ulaanbaatar (UBN) that should be operating in July 2026 based on currently scheduled routes and regular seasonal patterns. Note that specific summer 2026 schedules can change as airlines finalize timetables, but the following destinations are typically served with direct flights from Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) during summer:

South Korea
Seoul (ICN) – regular daily or frequent flights from multiple carriers (e.g., Korean Air, Asiana, Jeju Air, Aero Mongolia, etc.) — busiest international route.
China
Beijing (PEK) – nonstop flights by MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Air China.
Shanghai (PVG) – seasonal/regular flights (often in summer) by carriers such as Spring Airlines or MIAT.
Japan
Tokyo (NRT) – direct service offered seasonally and often into summer by MIAT, United Airlines and others.
