Transportation to launch and retrieval will be available at pretty reasonable rates (remember this is Norway). Transport to and retrieval is priced according to the distance away from Vågå.

The max number of 50 pilots is finite. The number is based on corona virus restrictions number and is not based on limits on launch or other site restrictions.

Flying site

Vågå is a municipality in Oppland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Gudbrandsdal. The municipality comprises 1,330 km2. The administrative centre is the village of Vågåmo. The two take off of the Vaga flying site are Vole and Salknappen.

Take off Vole
1080 m ASL, Elevation 700 m,
61.892224,9.142313 - N 61° 53' 32'' E 9° 8' 32'' (32V 507476 6862182 (WGS84))
Winds SE SW. W and E also possible. Great and wide start without obstacles, and suit all levels. HG take off is just near the parking. A little further to the left is PG take off, at which which also HG can start.
One sees the landing field from take off. The landing at the national center is located in a small funnel, which makes it a bit exposed when the wind blows in the valley. If it blows up, so look at the river, and never fly over the river during approach in windy. On strong west may be considered to land closer to downtown (less drip effect), by Lalm or state land. Talk often with local pilots about the phenomenon.
Vole a great place to hang, thermal hung, and thermals. Both local flight and distance.

Take off Salknappen
1430 m ASL Elevation 110 m
61.892224,9.142313 - N 61° 54' 1'' E 9° 14' 43'' (32V 512889 6863095 (WGS84))
Salknappen is a slightly more west facing take off than Vole. It can be reached by continuing to run up the road, from Vole (before taking into right to Vole take off).
The start is wide and clear of obstacles and suitable for all levels. It is very gentle that may give challenge to get "over the edge" if the wind blows, especially by western component. There is anyway no problem to land there, it just gets a little longer and go afterwards.
Nice base for both XC and local tour. Even an action flight down to Riksenteret becomes long because over about 1100 meters altitude difference!
Landing at the National Center (See vole-start, for further description of the landing.)
