Vršac Open competition is the 1st round of Serbian XC Paragliding league and also the first FAI cross country event in the country for the season of 2013. It will be held non-stop from 19 till 21 of April.

Vrsac hills are famous for their beauty and are very specific in nature due to the fact that they are island mountains which were once a part of the Pannonian Sea.

• Take-off: Djakov vrh, at 400 m. (GPS N 45’07.316, E 021’20.833)
• Landing: Magareće brdo, at 150 m. (GPS N 45’06.376, E 021’20.771)

Selection and entry fee

The Championship is open to all pilots from countries that are members or associated members of
FAI. Entry Forms will be filled during the registration.

Selection

Teams
The maximum team size is 6 pilots (4 any gender + 2 junior or female).
Team score for each task will be assembled from best 3 results (any gender) or junior or female.

Pilots
The requirements for a pilot to enter this competition are:
to hold valid FAI and pilot license.
to prove the airworthy of his glider.
not to exceed the maximum number of participants (the limit is 80).

Entry fee
39 Euro per pilot
30 Euro per guest pilot (no scoring).
Entry fees will be paid by bank transfer till April 14 or during the registration.

Prize fund and scoring categories

Vrsac Open is competition in cross country discipline and it is an open competition.
Its results will be calculated for Serbian league, single and team results (4+2).
Its results will be calculated in open category as single.
Its results will be calculated in serial (max DHV 2-3 or EN-D), sport (max DHV 2 or EN C) and fun category (max DHV 1-2 or EN B) if there is 6 competitors per category.
Woman and junior category are also scored separately, if they have minimum 4 competitors.
All categories compete for FAI points (WPRS).
Please, look at the local rules as well as FAI Rule book (section 7, class O), as this competition is FAI 2 category, which autmomatically implies all FAI rules.

Accommodation and Activities

How to get here

HQ office will be located in Hotel Vetrenjaca (Hotel Windmill) with working hours every day from 8:00 to 10:00 and 19:00 to 22:00.
Coordinates are 45 06'11.68" N, 21 16'27.76" E. If you are coming from Belgrade, it is on the entrance of Vrsac. When you pass the first gas station from left side just turn left and you'll see Hotel Windmill.

Plane

The nearest is Belgrade International airport. Vrsac is situated in southeast part of Banat, 80 km away from Belgrade.

Bus

The local bus company http://www.stup.rs/ with routes from and to Belgrade and Novi Sad on an hourly basis.

Car

If you are aproaching Vrsac from Belgrade side, it would be the best to look for Pancevacki most in Belgrade, cross it and follow rute Pancevo – Vrsac.
If you are approaching from interior of Serbia by highway, it would be good to take turn off at Smederevo and Kovin. When crossing Danube river and enter Kovin, one should follow road sign towards Bela Crkva and after that towards Vrsac (additional 30 km from Bela Crkva).
If you are comming from north or western Vojvodina, you should follow road for Zrenjanin and then take road from Zrenjanin over Plandiste, towards Vrsac.

You should be careful about police patros and radars!!! They are based mostly ahead of cities or smaller cities, but aso on the road before Vrsac.

Three sunny days event. Three tasks flown!

Vršac Open was the 1st competition of Serbian XC Paragliding league and also the first FAI cross country event in the country for the season of 2013. It was held from 19 till 21 of April. The weather was good and three tasks were successfully flown.
