Event info
Wings over Woodrat is a low-pressure, high fun event focused on learning to fly cross-country by utilizing competition formats. If you have ever wanted to learn how the top cross-country pilots navigate the sky, this is for you. We will utilize a three-day competition in order to create a structure for learning about what it takes to increase competency around cross-country flying. The event will also host numerous manufacturers and schools for a trade show. Finally, the event will be capped off with a one-day fun fly-in where costumes are highly encouraged and a solid round of lectures around tantalizing topics.
Russ Ogden and Nick Greece will lead morning and nightly sessions on all subjects around flying at your highest level, competition or otherwise. Other mentors will lead a variety of deep dives on relevant topics to improve both competitive and free-flying.
Wings over Woodrat will provide rides to launch and retrieve so that you can focus on what is important - having fun, learning, risk mitigation, and flying safely.
Selection and entry fee
Wings over Woodrat is open to the first 120 P3 pilots to sign up and pay the entry fee. $550 includes rides to launch, retrieves a parting dinner as well as all mentoring and education sessions. It does not include the required RVHPA club membership of $30 for visiting pilots.
