The X-Scotia Hike and Fly paragliding race in Scotland is back in 2025! For the first time in 2025, two races will be held: the classic two-day ‘Hardcore’ event, running Saturday-Sunday, and a new one-day event on the Saturday only.

This entry page is for the 1-day event - the 2-day entry is listed separately.

The event will take place in Kintail 24th – 25th of May, 2025 (back-up dates 31st May – 1st June).

PLEASE NOTE: To participate in the X-Scotia you MUST have a functioning Garmin Inreach or Spot GPS Satellite tracker with two-way communication enabled.

Selection and entry fee

SHPF members wil receive a £10 discount on the entry fee.

Documents required at registration

  • The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

  • You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Prize fund and scoring categories

Accommodation and Activities

Located in Kintail, the race Base Camp will be a field with basic facilities. It will serve as both the start and finish point for the race as well as the hub for the weekend’s activities. Participants will arrive Friday afternoon, park vehicles and camp for the duration of the weekend until Monday morning.

Food and drink will be available on Sunday evening for the social BBQ, however participants should come prepared with their own supplies for the remainder of the weekend.
