Val Louron is a resort located in in the French Pyrenees, in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées, and the region Midi-Pyrénées. It's main town is Genos. Val-Louron is specifically located in the Pays d'Aure in the Louron Valley, southeast of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and Tarbes, in Bigorre.

French Open 2016 invites you to Val Louron the site of many famous comps including PWC rounds. This is a French National Championship so main registration and selection and payment are made on this FFVL page: http://parapente.ffvl.fr/compet/2789. The 10 best foreigner pilots (not FFVL licences) will be invited freely to the event.

Livetracking is mandatory during the event so once selected to the event: you need also to register to the Airtribune 2016 French Paragliding Open

Flying site

Val Louron is a resort located in in the French Pyrenees, in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées, and the region Midi-Pyrénées. It's main town is Genos. Val-Louron is specifically located in the Pays d'Aure in the Louron Valley, southeast of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and Tarbes, in Bigorre. The nearest commune, by a direct route, is Loudenvielle to the east. By road, the nearest communes are Azet to the north-west, and Génos to the north-east, each situated at either end of the Col de Val Louron-Azet. Its altitude is between 1,450 metres (4,760 ft) at the bottom of the station, and 2,100 metres (6,900 ft) at the top.

East : easy
South : delicate - need to fly above the saddle to come back on Louron side
Northeast : very gentle slope
Take care of mountain breeze. South wind very dangerous!!
