We have a change in venue this year. Double Dam is no longer in operation. We are sad to see a group that has been so good to us over the years cease operations.

The meet is a tow competition. It will be based out of the Daysland Golf course which has camping, hookups, showers, and a clubhouse.

Event info

We have a change in venue this year. Double Dam is no longer in operation. We are sad to see a group that has been so good to us over the years cease operations.

The meet is a tow competition. It will be based out of the Daysland Golf course which has camping, hookups, showers, and a clubhouse. Join us and fly over the Alberta Prairies and sometimes even into Saskatchewan.

Most pilots will camp at Daysland Golf course, where we have our pilot meetings in the mornings before driving out to the tow roads. The tow roads are close to the Golf course.

Flying site

Depending on the wind, we choose one of three launch sites. Our flight task is determined each day by the task committee.

Selection and entry fee

Fees are $75 before May 6th and $85 after. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, awards dinner, and a trophy for each class.

Prize fund and scoring categories

Pilots are divided into 3 classes:
- those that are ready to fly their first 50 mile(80k) flight (Novice)
- those looking forward to their first 100 mile(160k) flight (Advanced)
- open class (Open)

General schedule

Saturday May 12 is a practise day.

Registration will be 9:00 am - 10:00 am Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13 at Double Dam Clubhouse.

On Sunday May 13th we will select from a long list of volunteers a Safety Committee and a Task Committee.

Keep track of all your personal bests (PBs). We sometimes find gifts for these PBs.

Our dinner, where we give out the awards, will be Sunday May 20th after a short task.

Monday is a holiday here in Canada so it is generally a drive day for most, although we have been known to fly on Monday if the conditions continue to be awesome.

Daily schedule

Each day we will have a Pilots meeting at the Clubhouse at 9:00 am. We then leave for the tow roads and start flying.

This year we will be loading our track logs to Airtribune for scoring. All track logs are to be loaded before the Pilots meeting the next day. On the last day the tracks must be loaded before the dinner. We may still download the track logs and manually score them.

Accommodation and Activities

Daysland has a campground with showers. Others have been known to go to Camrose, a 30-minute drive, to sleep.
