2nd Uttarakhand Open Cross-Country Paragliding Competition 2020 is a trial event to check the Potential of the new Paragliding site of Uttarakhand in Nanital District. It is organized by District Administration Nainital in technical collaboration of; Paragliding Association of Uttarakhand (PAU),

District Administration of Nanital is organising Winter carnival from 26 th of December to 30 of December during this period many other adventure activies are proposed paragliding cross-country trial is one. Mr Gurpreet Dhindsa will be the Meet Director of the Event. The take off
site name is Jalna/ Dola. its in the foothill of Naintal District. The take off is at 1700 mtrs and landing is at 700 mtrs. October to February is good time to fly with moderate temperatures . the terrain is mixed with vegetation and agricultural field in plains.
Flying site
Selection and entry fee
1. Glider/,Harness/ helmet (with proper certification)
2. Min Para pro 4-5 level pilot.( min 35 kms track log and past comp participation experience)
3. Reserve parachute will be mandatory, with vario and GPS
4. 2 way Radio for communication in air.
5. Individual Insurance of the pilots that covers paragliding.(proof to be submitted during registration ) no exceptions.
Qualified pilots can please Email their travel plans with dates so that their pick up from rail head/airport can be organised

General schedule
Event programme
Day 1 Official registration 9.AM, Mandatory Safety Briefing in evening
Day 2 Inauguration Hawan at take off by Chief Guest and Trial Task day
Day3-6 -Competition tasks.
Last day, after morning task, there will be Prize distribution and Closing ceremony at landing by Chief Guest.
Daily schedule
8.30-9.00 departure to take off
10.00 -11.30 meet director/task and safety committee meetings
Followed by pilot briefings/task of the day /previous task official results, pack lunch distribution
11.30-12.30 windows open
16.30 deadline for completion of task
17.00 to 18.00 gps download of day Task(HQ)
18.00 Departures to hotel.
Schedule may change according to conditions
Accommodation and Activities
During the Event transport to take off and back and Accommodation and Food will be provided by District administration of Nanital.
All precautions pertaining to Covid-19 safety and testing will be followed as per guidelines laid down by the GOI and state government.
How to get here
Delhi is well connected with Air and Railways , there are 3 trains to kathgodam the last rail head in Uttrakhand. By road Buses are available from Anand Vihar to Haldwani / kathgodam and Ramnagar.
local taxi/ buses are available for kotabagh.
For event District administration will provide pick up and drop from Kathgodam and Ramnagar last rail head and pilots coming from Nepal at Banbasa/ Tanakpur.
Pilots coming by flights at Panthnagar airport.
