Kobala is a famous flying site in Soca river valley in Slovenia. With the landing place in Tolmin it is intended for flying hang gliders and paragliders, for sport flying, competitions, events and training hang glider and paraglider pilots.

Selection and entry fee
If you receive a payment offer, you will have 7 days to pay, otherwise we will offer your place to another pilot on the waiting list.
110 participates allowed as maximum
30 reserved places for each Paragliding league from:
Austrian League
Slovenian League
If an nation is not exhausting all 30 places, non-nominated pilots from the waiting list will move in.
Entry fee:
Please do not pay prepayment until you get email with payment details!
Entry fee total 160€ (60€ payable via bank transfer + 100€ cash at the beginning of the competition). The entry fee has to be paid as soon as you receive the e-mail from the organizer.
Discount 30 € for young pilots below 28 years old! (pre-payment 60€ + 70€)
Participation requirements:
Valid pilot license and valid FAI sporting license
IPPI card level 5
Medical insurance covering paragliding
Third party liability insurance covering paragliding
Unmodified and certified helmet (EN 966), harness (EN 1651), and paraglider (EN 926/2 ), rescue parachute, VHF radio & mobile phone. Your glider must have valid proof of airworthiness (valid technical check if gliders is older than 2 years), you need to fly the glider inside certified weight range!!!
All the above will be checked at registration
Liability:
The participation in this competition is at own risk of each pilot. The organizer takes no responsibility for pilots or any other third parties. Any transfer to take off and retrieval shuttle service are at own risk of pilots.
Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

FAI IPPI Card
The FAI IPPI card is an International card that states your skill level. It is issued by your National Association and matches the level or your flying Licence

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Experience summary required
The organiser wishes for you to provide a summary of your experience on arrival.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents

Rescue/Medical Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your medical, rescue and repatriation insurance. You can purchase Global Rescue cover from Airtribune
Cancellation Policy
In case of cancellation less than 30 days before competition we will not refund you the pre-payment. If you paid full payment in the registration process, we will refund you the value over pre-payment.
Change of pilots: You can change your place with some other pilots until 5 days before event. Later this is not an option anymore, we need some time to prepare everything for the competition. We have some work with each change, price for the changing name of the competitor is 0€.
In case of organizer cancellation of the event based on weather prediction we will keep 30€ per pilot for covering organizing costs, transaction costs and work, all other part of payments will be refunded to the pilots.

JUNIOR CUP (pilots up to 28 years, flying certified gliders up to EN-C)
MASTER CUP (pilots above 50 years )
FEMALE PILOTS (certified gliders EN/LTF A, EN/LTF B, EN/LTF C, EN/LTF D, CCC)

Program:
4 scheduled tasks. Task setting according official competition rules depending on weather conditions.
Thursday, May, 16th:
Registration from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Friday, May, 17th:
last Registration from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
9:00 a.m. Pilots welcome, briefing, weather forecast, poll of Safety and Task committee
10:30 a.m. Task briefing, start to Task 1

TOLMIN Slovenia
Plane
The nearest international airports are Ljubljana (85 km away) and Trieste (70 km away) in Italy. From there you can catch a bus to Tolmin.
Bus
You can get to Tolmin by bus from most of the major cities in Slovenia.

Train
There is a train station at the nearby town of Most na Soci. It is about 10 minutes by taxi to Tolmin. Connecting trains are hard though as it is a small service. You can come from the north, through from Austria, with a change at Jesenice. You can also board at Nova Gorica in the south.
There is a Car Train service from the north than can turn a 1 hour car drive into a 35 minute ride through the beautiful valleys. But there are only 3 or 4 services a day, from Bohinska Bistrica.
Car
You can get to Tolmin either from Kobarid, Nova Gorica or Ljubljana/Idrija. The Headquarters are located at Gabrje Campsite, which is ca. 4 km NW from Tolmin by the Soca river.
