Event info

The return of AcroFest! It's been 20 years since the first AcroFest and we are excited to be holding the first for 10 years in Cromwell, Lake Dunstan on boat tow thanks to Paratownz. The competition will be held over the weekend, with qualifying rounds held first and the finals to happen on the Sunday where we can declare the NZ Acro champion!

Every entrant will get at least 3 high tows over the water, HQ will be the Lake Dunstan Boating club where we invite spectators to watch the action unfold, we will have the BBQ going and if the weather doesn’t play ball some presentations from experienced pilots.

After the finals join us for the after party at the Pisa Moorings Restaurant bunker bar, plenty of accommodation options in Cromwell including free camping a short walk from the HQ and Pisa Moorings.

We want this event to be open to pilots of all levels so there will be 3 categories:
- Novice, lower airtime pilots (En A or En B wings)
- Masters, anyone that attended a previous AcroFest that wants to have fun.
- Competition, Acro gliders competing for the NZ Champion title.
Initially the competition will be open to 20 pilots but if more are interested then we can open up more slots and have more qualifying days, pilots would only have to be present one day of qualifying subject to scheduling.

All entrants must have:
- PG Tow Pilot rating
- Helmet
- NZHGPA membership
- Glider WOF
- Life Jacket
- Hook knife
- UHF radio
