Canungra is a famous Australian free flying area of Gold Coast region. There are several take offs for all wind directions located on 500 m high tree-covered mountain ridges. The area is about 30 km from the East coast of the continent so the sea breeze can intervene in the afternoon and produce some very buoyant conditions.

Event info
4 day XC paragliding event, based in Canungra from CHGC sites. Flying tasks will be based around turnpoint tagging throughout the scenic rim area of SEQ with a declared goal each day. All en certified gliders are welcome and we welcome a broad range of pilots from PG3 and up. Also integrated is pilot mentoring for pilots new to comps who want to progress their flying in a supportive environment. The tagging format will also challenge experienced pilots into new and unique lines and require more route planning than a traditional tasking comp.
A full minibus retrieve is incorporated into the comp which gives all pilots launch access from HQ and retrieve from flying each day back to HQ. The area covered by the retrieve will be limited and defined each day.
Presentation dinner on Sunday Evening. Prizes include overall and day prizes awarded each day for a host of categories. Also includes XC maps, Launch priority and safety oversight for competition pilots.
Each TP in the published TP file will be worth 1 point and the declared goal each day will be worth 5 points. Each TP can be counted only once during the event. This encourages pilots to fly different routes each day. The declared goal will always count for 5 points even if it is the same as a previously used goal point.
