Le Grand-Bornand is located in Haute-Savoie, France, 30 km east from Annecy. The flying site allows many flight possibilities both in winter and summer. Take off is at the top of Mont Lachat, highest point of the ski resort.

The exceptional challenge awaits! Take off from Le Grand-Bornand with only one goal: make the longest distance and come back to land at Le Grand-Bornand landing zone! Back to Grand Bo will take place from 27th June to 10th July 2015. No restrictions! Choose your flying days during stated period, choose your own route! You can do as many attempts as you want.
To be valid the tracks must have :
- The first point in a 800 m radius from the Mont Lachat take off which
reference coordinates are 45.9587, 6.47655. Don’t forget to turn on your GPS while
you’re getting ready.
- The last point of the flight must be in a 200m radius from “Potets” landing
zone wich reference coordinates are 45.93572, 6.46143. If your GPS doesn’t stop
automatically the recording after the landing, don’t forget to turn it off after your landing.
Selection and entry fee
To validate your registration you have to send us a aerial civil liability proof , and a IPPI 5 or " Brevet de pilote confirmé" proof.

Prize fund and scoring categories
Elite category: - 2000 euros* for the 1st ,
- 1000 euros* for the 2nd ,
- 800 euros* for the 1st woman.
Performance category : - 1200 euros* for the 1st,
- 600 euros* for the 2nd,
- 500 euros* for the 1st woman.
Standard category : - 1000 euros* for the 1st,
- 500 euros* for the 2nd,
- 400 euros* for the 1st woman.
The gains are cumulative. If a pilot does the longest distance with a standard or performance
glider (aspect ratio lower than 7) he accumulates the gains from all categories. Same principle if a woman wins general ranking.

How to get here
Le Grand-Bornand is located 30 km from Annecy in the east of France.

Plane
The nearest international airport is Geneva (http://www.gva.ch/). With the new motorway A41, it takes about 35 mins to get there by car. A little further away is Lyon (http://www.lyonaeroports.com/), a full international airport, and Grenoble, which is focused on low cost and winter flights. Both are about a one-hour drive by car or bus. The local airport of Annecy (http://www.annecy.aeroport.fr/) only has flights to Paris-Orly.
Bus
There is a bus to Le Grand-Bornand from Annecy 8 times a day. Visit http://www.voyages-crolard.com to get exact time.
Train
If you fly to Paris or you live in France you can get to Annecy by railroad. Visit SNCF web site http://www.sncf.com/ to check the time table to Gare d'Annecy.
Also you can get to Annecy by train from Lyon and Nice.
Car
It takes about half an hour to get to Le Grand-Bornand by car from Annecy - 30 km.
