Vorotynsk flying site is located in Babyninskiy district of Kaluga region in about 200 km to the south west from Moscow (Russia).
Vorotynsk flying region is located in flatland, not more than 70 m of altitude difference (in all region). The climate is temperate continental, best flying season lasts from April to August. In September it is possible to find small thermals, but in winter season – only flying "from up to down”. Cloud base in summer is up to 2500 m, usually 1500-2000 m with thermals up to +4 m/s. Two take off places, that will be used for this competition, are located in flat field and old aerodrome. They allow to fly with all wind directions with wind force up to 10 m/s. The best wind directions for long XC flights are west-nord-east. With south winds flying is possible, but not for long distances because the territory is covered by forests and Moscow region with flying limitation is near. This region doesn’t have special dangerous moments in flying.
The longest XC flight in Russian flatland is 314 km, was flown by Igor Volkov in 2010. The altitude maximum is about 3800 m.

For competition will be used two take off places with 3 winches:
Owing to use towing for take off, flying possible for all wind directions. Towing systems provide first climb to 300-500 m altitude. Ground in the take off fields is covered by grass. Take off fields are accessible by all kind of cars. The nearest city type village Vorotynsk is 3 km from take off, large city – Kaluga is 25 km from here.

Due flying in the flatland, most waypoints can be used as landings, For unsuccessful attempt to climb after disconnecting from towing, landing is possible at the take off field.
