The competition “Montegrappa Trophy 2024” is a FAI Category 2 paragliding event. The main organisers are “Aero Club Blue Phoenix Parapendio” (via Granezza 11, 36016 Thiene (VI) - Italy) and “ASD Volo Libero Montegrappa” (piazza al Paradiso, 31030 Semonzo di Borso del Grappa (TV) - Italy).

Selection and entry fee
Pre-registrations can be done only through the web site https://airtribune.com, from 18th of December 2024 to 19th of January 2024. The list of confirmed pilots will be published within 21st of January 2024. Only pre-registered pilots with a valid FAI licence will be accepted. A valid third-party insurance is mandatory.
Participants and selection
The maximum number of participants admitted to the competition is 150:
- 140 places will be assigned to pilots selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system (reference date 1st January 2024)*;
- 7 wild cards, assigned by the organizers;
- 3 wild cards, assigned by the Italian Team Leader.
(*) In compliance with the Italian National Sporting Code 2023 (app. B.2), in the first selection round, 30% of the available places (45) will be guaranteed to Italian pilots and the selection will be made following the Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31st October 2023). If an Italian pilot renounces or does not pay the entry fee within the established deadline, his/her place will be reassigned to another pilot, selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system.
Among all the participants, 10 places will be assigned to women.
In case of equal rankings, priority will be given to the first pilot who made the pre-registration. Registration to the competition becomes effective only after the entry fees payment, which has to be done within 6 days from the confirmation date. Confirmation will be sent to pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants. Pilots who won’t pay within the payment deadline, will be moved at the bottom of the selection list. Organizers have the right to not accept the registration of pilots considered not eligible for safety reasons or in case the compliance with legal requirements cannot be verified.
Entry fee and payment
The entry fee is € 280.00, including:
- Transport to take-off each competition day
- Retrieval each competition day
- Emergency service, ambulance and doctor each competition day
- Live tracking
- Packed-lunch each competition day
- Gadgets
- Flycard with a 14 days validity (23/03/2024 - 05/04/2023)
- Pasta party
- Complimentary dinner
- Awards and prizes for the winner
Paid entry fees will not be returned for any reason or for any claim. The entry fee must be paid within 6 days from the confirmation (received by email), by bank transfer. The payment receipt must be sent to the following email address: para@trofeomontegrappa.it. An additional fee of € 100.00 will be charged in case of late payment.
Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Identification documents needed
You will need to provide photo ID on arrival. This could be Passport, Driving Licence or National ID, for example.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents

Rescue/Medical Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your medical, rescue and repatriation insurance. You can purchase Global Rescue cover from Airtribune
Cancellation Policy
Paid entry fees will not be returned for any reason or for any claim. The entry fee must be paid within 6 days from the confirmation (received by email), by bank transfer. The payment receipt must be sent to the following email address: para@trofeomontegrappa.it. An additional fee of € 50.00 will be charged in case of late payment.
Prize fund and scoring categories
- OVERALL class
- SERIAL class (with at least 10 participants)
- SPORT class (with at least 10 participants)
- WOMEN class (with at least 5 participants)
OVERALL class
Reserved to pilots flying paragliders certified EN B, EN C, EN D or CCC.
SERIAL class
Reserved to pilots flying paragliders certified EN B, EN C or EN D. In case of double certification, the more restrictive one will be considered.
SPORT class
Reserved to pilots flying paragliders certified EN B or EN C. In case of double certification, the more restrictive one will be considered.
WOMEN class
Reserved to women pilots flying paragliders certified EN B, EN C, EN D or CCC.
Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to collect the prize. Proxies are not accepted. Prizes not claimed will remain at the organization.
