Event info
The competition “Montegrappa Trophy 2021” is a FAI Category 2 paragliding event. The main organiser are “Aero Club Lega Piloti” (via San Miro, 23867 Suello (LC) – Italy) and “ASD Volo Libero Montegrappa” (piazza al Paradiso, 31030 Semonzo di Borso del Grappa (TV) – Italy). "Montegrappa Trophy 2021" is currently authorized by the Italian Airsports Federation and the National Olympic Committee. The restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic are still active in Italy as well as in the rest of Europe and at the moment travelling is still difficult, however, in the long run of the pandemic, we have learned that things change very quickly and no one knows exactly what the situation will be in early April. We have therefore decided to start the necessary activities, with the hope that the "Montegrappa Trophy 2021" can be held. It is possible to register until 05/03/2021 and the list of selected pilots will be published on 07/03/2021. The payment request will be sent only when we are sure that there are the necessary conditions to run the competition.
Selection and entry fee
SELECTION:
The maximum number of participants admitted to the competition is 150:
- 140 places will be assigned to pilots selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system (reference date 1st March 2021)*;
- 7 wild cards, assigned by the organizers;
- 3 wild cards, assigned by the Italian Team Leader.
(*) In compliance with the Italian Sporting Regulation 2021 (app. B.3), in the first selection round, about 40% of the available places will be guaranteed to Italian pilots and the selection will be made following the Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31th October 2020).
If an Italian pilot renounces or does not pay the entry fee within the established deadline, his/her place will be reassigned to another pilot, selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system.
10 places will be assigned to women.
In case of equal rankings, priority will be given to the first pilot who made the pre-registration.
Registration to the competition becomes effective only after the entry fees payment, which has to be done within 6 days from the confirmation date. Confirmation will be sent to pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants.
Pilots who won’t pay within the payment deadline, will be moved at the bottom of the selection list.
Organizers have the right to not accept the registration of pilots considered not eligible for safety reasons or in case the compliance with legal requirements cannot be verified.
The entry fee is € 230.00 via bank transfer or € 240.00 via Paypal, including:
- Retrieval each competition day
- Emergency service, ambulance and doctor each competition day
- Live tracking
- Packed-lunch on each competition day
- 1 complimentary dinner
- Gadgets
- Flycard with a 14 days validity (22/03/2021 - 04/04/2021)
- Awards and prizes for the winner
- Prize draw for all the participants
The transport to take-off site is not included in the entry fee due to the recent restrictions, allowing half of the seats on each shuttle bus. The pilots would pay the transport separately, according to their personal use.

The entry fee must be paid within 6 days from the confirmation (email), by wire transfer or Pay-pal. If you are slow to pay then you lose the offer of a place. Confirmation of payment (copy of transfer) must be sent by e-mail to this address: para@trofeomontegrappa.it. An additional fee of € 40.00 will be charged in case of late payment.
REFUND
In case of no valid tasks, the organisation will return to any participant part of the entry fee. The amount will be defined on the basis of the expenses afforded by organizers (minimum amount € 50.00 – maximum amount € 150.00).
Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Identification documents needed
You will need to provide photo ID on arrival. This could be Passport, Driving Licence or National ID, for example.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents

Rescue/Medical Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your medical, rescue and repatriation insurance. You can purchase Global Rescue cover from Airtribune
Cancellation Policy
Paid entry fees will not be returned for any reason or for any claim. Nonetheless, in case of no valid task, organizers will return part of the entry fee to each confirmed pilot (minimum amount € 50.00 – maximum amount € 150.00, depending on the expenses afforded by the organizers).
Prize fund and scoring categories
The following categories will be ranked:
- Overall: 1°, 2°, 3°
- Serial (with at least 10 participants): 1°, 2°, 3°
- Sport (with at least 10 participants): 1°, 2°, 3°
- Women (with at least 5 participants): 1°
OVERALL
Reserved to pilots flying paragliders certified EN B, EN C, EN D, CCC or DHV/LTF 2/ 2-3. In case of double certification, the more restrictive one will be considered.
SERIAL
Reserved to pilots flying certified EN B, EN C, EN D or DHV/LTF 2/2-3. In case of double certification, the more restrictive one will be considered.
SPORT
Reserved to pilots flying certified EN B, EN C or DHV/LTF 2. In case of double certification, the more restrictive one will be considered.
Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to collect the prize. Proxies are not accepted. Prizes not claimed will remain at the organization.
