The island of Lanzarote is located in the west of Canary islands in about 300 km from African coast. The island is of volcanic origin. It has got 12 take offs in various parts of the island for different meteorological conditions.

Este año celebramos la 24º edición del tradicional Open Internacional de Ala Delta y Campeonato de Canarias. Nos sentimos ilusionados de poder compartir con todos vosotros este nuevo campeonato que celebraremos entre los días 5 al 11 de Diciembre, 2021 (ambos inclusive) en la isla de Lanzarote. Aprovechando las magníficas condiciones para el vuelo libre que se dan en este lugar. Y así disfrutar de los fantásticos paisajes y buen clima que nos ofrece el archipielago canario.
This year marks the 24th edition of the traditional International Hang Gliding Open & the Canary Island's Championship. We would like to share with all of you this new edition to be celebrated from the 5th to 11th of Febraury, 2021(both inclusive) in the island of Lanzarote. Taking advantage of the excellent conditions for hang gliding that occur in this place. So enjoy the fantastic scenery and good climate that gives us the Canary Islands.

Selection and entry fee
El campeonato está abierto a la participación de todos aquellos pilotos que lo deseen y cumplan lo especificado en el Art. 1 del Reglamento Técnico de Competición de la FAE.
Al formalizar la inscripción cada piloto debe aportar:
Licencia federativa en vigor.
Licencia deportiva FAI (para puntuar en ranking internacional WPRS FAI)
Aportar al menos 1 GPS a la hora del registro con marca, modelo y número de serie.
Facilitar números de teléfonos de piloto, jefe de equipo (si lo hubiere) y conductor o cualquier otro número de contacto disponible.
Pago del importe de la inscripción
Seguro de RC a terceros cubierto, con seguro de rescate y repatriación cubierto.
El organizador no asume ninguna responsabilidad de pilotos ni a terceros. Los transportes a despegue y recogidas van bajo responsabilidad propia de los pilotos participantes.
1.1. El Open Internacional y Campeonato de Canarias 2020 está abierto a todos los pilotos con la calificación apropiada y con licencia federativa en vigor.
El importe de la inscripción es de 30 € por piloto para federados canarios y 60 € para el resto

1.0. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The championship is open to all those pilots that have sufficiently level to fly in a category 2 competition.
At registration pilots must show the following:
Valid sporting licence
FAI card (necessary to score in WPRS FAI ranking)
Show at least 1 GPS at registration with brand, model & serial number.
Facilitate pilot's phone number, team leaders & drivers phones (if any available) and any other contact phone available.
Proof of payment entry fee
Insurance covering 3rd part liability, rescue and repatriation
The organizer assumes no liability for pilots or anyone else. Transport to launch and recovery under own responsibility of participating pilots.
1.1. The International Open & Canarian Championship 2020 entry fee is:
30 € for canarian pilots and 60 € for all the rest

Documents required at registration

FAI Sporting Licence
Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Identification documents needed
You will need to provide photo ID on arrival. This could be Passport, Driving Licence or National ID, for example.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents

Rescue/Medical Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your medical, rescue and repatriation insurance. You can purchase Global Rescue cover from Airtribune

Las clasificaciones del Campeonato de Canarias y Open se publicarán por separado.
Este campeonato está igualmente abierto a la participación de alas de Clase 5 (rígidas) además de las de Clase 1 (flexibles) y la sub clase Sport
Se harán clasificaciones por separado de los pilotos participantes en clase 1, de los pilotos participantes en clase 5 y los pilotos participantes de clase Sport
Las pruebas para los pilotos de clase 5 podrían ser las mismas o diferentes de las de clase 1.
Habrá una clasificación adicional para pilotos de la clase Sport (clase 1 con mástil) para fomentar la participación de pilotos noveles.

The scoring of the Canary Islands Champ. and Open Championship will be published separately.
This competition is also open to the participation of class 5 (rigid) gliders & also to Sport class gliders
Scores will run will separately for the pilots participating in class 1 and those in class 5, ass for Sport Class participants. Tasks for class 5 pilots may be the same or different from Class 1.
There will be an additional scoring for Sport class pilots (class 1 with kingpost) to encourage the participation of novice pilots.
