Event info
The Belgian Ardenne Paragliding Open is a flatland competition spread over 2 weekends. We will be using the foot-launched hill take-offs of the beautiful Ardenne in the south of Belgium and the north of France. The weekends are:
March 4 & 5 Launching Event Weekend X1X Team
April 22 & 23 (MD TBD)
Every weekend will be a separate FAI Cat 2 competition ! When the competition sells out completely, we expect between 30 and 40 points for the winner if we can fit 2 tasks in. There is no need to participate in all weekends, pilots can participate as it fits their agenda. For every weekend we keep 10 day tickets which can be obtained from one week before the event with the Meet Director. For Belgian pilots, we will crown the king of the flatlands at the end of the 2th weekend.
In case of bad weather, we will cancel the weekend on Thursday or Friday evening before the weekend.
Retrieve is not foreseen by default, but we will facilitate retrieve by fellow competitors through a whatsapp group, and, as much as possible we will take hotspots of public transportation as goals for the tasks with the possibility to return to take off by train or bus. The Belgian Ardenne are well served by the Belgian railroad, the most dense rail network in the world ...
No airspace infringement will be allowed during the competition, and we will provide you with correct OpenAir files for each weekend as well as specific briefing informations.
Scoring will be done after the event, this year we will use TBS and PG-Race (Android & Web App) for the first time.
