Event info
The venue for 2021 is Tolmin, Slovenia, with HQ being at Camp Gabrje, a beautiful location in the heart of the mountains, next to the winding river Soca.
The "FlyFurther" is the perfect training camp for cross country pilots interested in improving their XC flying skills. It’s a 5 day XC camp based in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. Task-focused XC flying will be fully supported with in-depth task briefs and debriefs. It also features plenty of extras, including talks on XC related subjects, social evenings and more.
Your hosts for the event are Nicole Fedele (World Champion & World Record holder), Brett Janaway (World record holder), Stan Radzikowski (X-Pyr, XAlps & British Comps, XC guide) and Martin Long (PWC pilot).
The event starts with a 1to1 interview of every pilot by a mentor to establish their current abilities, ambitions, weaknesses and strengths. All the pilots will then be separated in to 5 groups of 8 pilots, with each group being allocated a mentor to coach them during the week. The pilots within each group will be of similar ability and level, so you will not feel out of depth. For example, you can expect one group to be all EN-B wings, getting to know their first cross countries, whilst at the other end we will have some top pilots on CCC wings, learning the arts of racing, probably from multiple champion Nicole Fedele.
Each day will begin with all groups together, for weather forecasts and other information for the day. Then we go to launch, and separate in to our separate groups. At the end of the day, once you are all retrieved, you will first have a debrief with your mentor, and then a larger debrief of everybody. At the end of the week, we hope all pilots will achieve personal bests and/or significantly improved understanding of how to achieve their goals.
All pilots will be given trackers for their safety and so we can give pilots a detailed review of their XC flight for the day.
In order to ensure that all participants receive plenty of personal coaching we are limiting this event to just 40 pilots.
This isn't a competition. The rules are simple:
