We are sad to inform you that we had to CANCEL the Festival Internacional de Parapente de Linhares 2022.
There is legislation in place that imposes a proihibition on ANY activities on forests and protected areas.
The forecast the government uses is based on the Fire Risk Index published by IPMA:

Linhares da Beira is in a protected area and the forecast is for the Fire Risk to remain Very High!
The organizers, Câmara Municipal de Celorico and Clube Vertical, have been working closely with all the authorities involved, trying to find solutions to allow us to fly.... this is not possible this year.
We will be working hard to bring colour to our skies in 2023.
We will contact all pilots who have paid and proveed to reimburse you in full.

This is a leasure event with a competition teaser.
Linhares da Beira is considered to be the "Cathedral" of the Portuguese paragliding sites, and is a great place to initiate new competitors old and yound.
The Council, in partnership with Clube Vertical, have rekindled the International Paragliding Festival wich colours the skyies of the medieval town every August.
Altough the event is focused on the ludic aspect of paragliding it will have two trophies with monetary prizes.
- The Sacadura Cabral Trophy - celebrating a local pioneer aviator, who crossed the South Atlantic in 1922.
This Torphy will be awarded by a XC competition based on FAI CIVL rules.
- The Linhares da Beira Trophy - celebrating the town that hosts this Festival
Promoting a competition that will only use the oficial take-off and landing.
Leisure pilots are also invted to come and fly.
Flying site
Selection and entry fee
- Sacadura Cabral Trophy (Prova A): 50 Eur
- Linhares da Beira Trophy (Prova B): 40 Eur
- Leisure: 40 Eur
Daily passes will be possible to acquire, on site, for any of the above at 15 Eur per day.
If payment is not received before the event, registrations are still possible on site at the prices above plus 5 Eur for admin fee.
Payments can be done by Bank Transfer or MBWay.
Documents required at registration

National Licence
The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Signed Waiver/Release form
You will need to sign a waiver or release document to show you understand the risks. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

Liability Insurance
You must provide the organiser with a copy of your liability (3rd party) insurance documents
Cancellation Policy
If the pilot withdraws before the event 5 Eur of admin fee will be retained.
If the event is cancelled due to the reasons out of the organization's control pilots shall be reimbursed minus 5Eur of admin fees.
If the event is cancelled by the organization pilots shall be reimbursed in full.
Prize fund and scoring categories
It will have the following categories:
- Open
- Sport
- Serial
- Women
In all categories the prizes will include a trophy and:
There will also be a trophy for clubs, but with no monetary prize.
