Accommodation and Activities
The Rotorua Thermal Holiday park is the best place to stay. However they are likely to be extremely busy at this time and we STRONGLY recommend that you book roofed accommodation there AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. There will be ample camping space.
Some cabin spaces have been set aside for PG Open pilots by the Holiday Park (see link below). Please contact the Holiday Park to reserve cabins (pilots will receive a 10% discount if they mention the PG Open 2017 when booking)

Otherwise, there are numerous motels and hotels in Rotorua.
How to get here
Best airport to fly to is Auckland, from there it is approximately a 3 hour drive to Rotorua.
Rotorua is a major tourist centre with excellent transport links to the major NZ cities and airports. Check out http://www.nakedbus.com/ for good deals on buses to Rotorua.
Flying sites are approx 40-60 mins drive from Rotorua and require 4WD vehicles for access to the take off. There will be some spare capacity in private vehicles but pilots are advised to contact the organisers if they need assistance with transport arrangements.
In order to keep entry fees down there is no official transport & retrieve service for the PG Open 2017, so pilots are encouraged to car-share where possible. If you will be arriving in Rotorua without your own transport and would like to be put in contact with local pilots please contact the organiser, grahamsurrey@gmail.com
