Flying site

The Vosges Massif is a one of the most reckoned flying sites - XC flights have been done there since 1970s for hang gliding and since the 1980 for paragliding. There are about 40 take off in the Vosges Mountains from North to South operated by similar number of local clubs.

International FAI Cat. 2 competition at Le Treh in the Vosges near Mulhouse organised by the DGF Rhein-Mosel-Lahn e.V.
Our headquarter is at the main landing field AÉROTEC between Fellering and Oderen. There you can stay at the camping or can book B&B in the two nearest towns.
We have two big takeoffs, Le Treh for S-SW and Le Drumont for E, big enough for 120 Pilots. The terrain is thermally very good and excellently suited for a competition. We are looking forward to welcome you in beautiful France.


⚠️ Flymaster live trackers are obligatory!
Pilots who do not bring their own can rent one from the organiser. (20€ for the event)
No tracker: no retrieve, no points.
A Radio (2m band) is mandatory.

Flying site

The Vosges Massif is a one of the most reckoned flying sites - XC flights have been done there since 1970s for hang gliding and since the 1980 for paragliding. There are about 40 take off in the Vosges Mountains from North to South operated by similar number of local clubs. NS oriented the Vosges Massif stretches over 200 km. The southern part is 60 km wide and includes the tallest peaks and the highest peaks, including the Grand Ballon, the highest peak 1424 m. This is the most usual place to start long distance flights. Besides the Vosges Massif is a popular tourist place with highly developed infrastructure.
There are two main take offs Le Treh and Ballon D’Alsace.
Le Treh - 1206 m ASL, (47.9256, 7.011) SW, W, NW
Precaution turbulent with the wind exceeding 25 km\h. Paragliding launch ground is to the left from the windsock, hang gliding to the right. Location and aerology make possible long XC flights in eastern France and neighbouring countries (Belgium, Luxembourg and especially Germany). The site is also hosts many competitions, regional, national and even international. E.g. Junior championships in France or a round of the World Cup.
Access: From Fellering / Oderen one should use the road by the lake then by the dirt road that goes up the stubble below the takeoff.

Precaution turbulent with the NE wind. There Two nearby take off for all winds. Access by dirt road.

Entry fee is 160€, payable after selection
The entry fee includes all transport to/from takeoff and landing area and retrieve service from official roads.

Documents required at registration

  • Issued by your local NAC on behalf of the FAI. You cannot normally compete in an FAI event without one. Contact your National Association (NAC)

Cancellation Policy

Any pilot who cancels their registration will be given a refund as follows:

Cancellation date more than 30 days before competition start date: 130€ refund
Cancellation date less than 30 days before competition start date: 80€ refund
Cancellation date less than 7 days before competition start date: no refund

In case of event cancellation by the organiser 130€ will be refunded
Final decision about cancellation due to bad weather: 11.07.2023 12h
