The Parâng Mountains are one of the highest mountain ridges in Romania and Southern Carpathians, with its highest peak Parângu Mare reaching 2,519 m. The Parâng mountains are located in the south-western part of the Central-Meridional Carpathians.

In the middle of summer when heat makes the rules there is only one place you can go to escape! Parâng Mountains will keep you cool and offer you a wonderful flying experience with a good taste of Romanian hospitality.
6 years now from the first edition, Parâng Open 2016 is a FAI-2 XC competition, 3'rd stage of Romanian Nationals and part of Romanian Cup.
Selection and entry fee
90 Euro for all participants. (93,53 € for PayPal payments).
Registration validation: The registration is only valid once the organization has received the registration fee. Your status is reflected in the participants list page.

Railway station is Petrosani. From there one can take a taxi to Parang Chairlift.

From the city of Petrosani you have take the road to Parang Resort. When the paved road finishes, you have to take the unpaved road until you reach the first lodge on the summit.

From the city of Petrosani you have take the road to Parang resort (or a taxi € 5,-), up to Parang cable lift (€ 2,5), which drops you at the 5 minutes walking distance from Parang take off.
