Canungra is a famous Australian free flying area of Gold Coast region. There are several take offs for all wind directions located on 500m high tree-covered mountain ridges. The area is about 30 km from the East coast so the sea breeze can intervene in the afternoon and produce some very buoyant conditions.

Welcome to Canungra Sports Cup, a week of XC task racing in the peak Canungra spring season. Live Tracking - https://puretrack.io/?l=-27.93215,153.06464&z=11.0&group=canungra-sports-cup Limited to 70 pilots and limited to sports class en-C gliders and below to create a level playing field for all pilots. AA and cat 2 FAI points and race tasks through the scenic rim area of SE QLD and northern NSW.
Presentation dinner on Saturday Evening. Prizes include overall and day prizes awarded each day for a host of categories. Also includes XC maps, Launch priority and safety oversight for competition pilots. Several included social events and meals during the week will make for a fun and social week long event.
IMPORTANT: ALL PILOTS MUST CARRY AND USE PERSONAL SKYLINES TRACKING (We also recommend a Sat Tracker with as (InReach Spot etc)
IMPORTANT - No transport is provided, all launches are 2WD accessible, a list of local drivers will be provided to assist with your retrieve group
Selection and entry fee
Entry includes comp tasking, launch management and priority, safety oversight, several included social events, presentation dinner, trophies, prizes.
PG-4 License is generally required to compete. If you are PG3 please contact us to discuss. Competition launch gaggles can be hectic and intimidating so we need to maintain suitable experience to fly safely in this environment. PG3 inclusion is possible so long as we achieve other experience and skills. Please call us to discuss.
SAFA - MEMBERSHIP - All pilots must be members of the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia for the duration of the event. Please check your membership status BEFORE leaving home. Overseas visiting pilots to Australia will need to obtain a Visiting Pilot Membership

CHGC MEMBERSHIP - All pilots must be members of the local club (who pay for the launch and landing fields as well as the road to launch) for the duration of the event. There is a 2 week membership or full year membership available.

The organiser requires you to present your National flying licence.

Signed Application form
You will need to sign an applicaton form at the venue. Usually the organiser will provide it on arrival.

75% refund until 3 weeks prior to registration
50% refund until 2 weeks prior to registration

How to get here
If Flying into Bne or GC airports, catch the city train or bus to Nerang. Event organisers can organise pick up from Nerang on Frdiay 3rd.
