Special Area Development Authority (SADA) Bir Billing in collaboration with Department of Tourism Govt of HP.
The idea of Indian Open 2018, Bir is to bring the Paragliding pilots from around the world together to these Himalayan Foothills to enjoy the love for competition flying.
Flying site
Bir Billing is well know site for paragliding in Himachal Pradesh and popular among both indian and foreigners pilots. Bir Billing is a small village surrounded by big mountains. Bir-Billing in the Dauladhar mountain range is known as one of the finest aero sports sites in the world .

Participation criteria:

Equipment Requirements:
- Glider Classification: EN, CCC
- Certified EN Harness
- Helmet
- Reserve
- GPS
- 2m Radio
- Smart phone
- Insurance covering paragliding (proof will be checked at competition registration)
Insurance: Accident/Medical/hospitalization/Third Party Liability insurance covering paragliding (proof to be checked during registration). NO EXCEPTIONS!
[Pilot experience]
- IPPI or any other equivalent Rating
- Pilots without IPPI or equivalent rating can participate if they can provide a flight log proof of having done an XC at least once in the past one year covering a distance of at least 30 km and/or recommendation by an instructor or a senior pilot. Such pilots are requested to provide the above before hand by sending the details to xc.indianopen@gmail.com. Decision taken by the organizing committee on entry of such pilots shall be deemed final.
We are still under negotiations to arrange helicopter rescue for this event. However GSM Trackers will be provided so that Road rescue is always on top of any unforeseen events. This space will be updated once we have more information on this.

Maximum/Minimum Participants:
The maximum no. of pilots allowed for the comp is 150.
25% of the seats are reserved for foreign pilots. In case those 25% are not filled 2 weeks before the competition those seats will be given to local pilots.
